Herbert Theodore Wells

Herbert T. Wells, 85, of Beckley, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 in Daniels. Born on May 3, 1926, in Grantsville, WV , he was the son of the late Ted H. and Ruth Curry Wells.
Herbert was a graduate of Richwood High School, a sergeant in the Army having fought during WWII and the Korean War . After his service in the Army, he worked for Imperial Smokeless Coal Company #3, Met-Life Insurance, Jan Campell Music Store and Grady Whitlock. Herbert was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and a resident of the area for over 50 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Wells.
Survivors include his wife, Joann O’Dell Wells of Beckley; a daughter, Donna Talbott and her husband Mike of Sanford, NC and a grandson, C.J. Carper and his wife Erika of San Diego, CA.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 9, in the Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley, with Rev. Mike King officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens where Oak Hill VFW Post 3110 will conduct military honors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
