Heidi Marie Peterson Brown

Heidi Marie Peterson Brown, 33, of Beckley, WV died Wednesday, January 9. She was born October 12, 1979 in Royal Oak, MI to J. Samuel and Dee Peterson. As a young child of only 2 years old she accepted the Lord as her Savior and lived her whole life as a follower of Jesus. She spent most of her childhood years in Aurora, CO until moving to Beckley in 1995. Heidi graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lee University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communications with a specialty in Media Writing. While at Lee she met and married Jason Michael Brown in 2001. Heidi and Jason welcomed their first child Joshua Michael in 2002 followed by Caleb Samuel in 2004, Ainsley Catherine Grace in 2005, and Madelyn Ainsley in 2006. Heidi was an avid reader and writer contributing articles to West Virginia South and Focus on the Family Clubhouse Kids, as well as several other newsletters, blogs, and publications. She had a unique writing style that was eloquent yet practical; her writing came from a very personal place. Everyone who knew Heidi was touched by her servant’s heart. She was constantly aware of others needs and considered them above her own. Her servant’s heart was never more evident than with her children. She devoted her life to caring for them and teaching them to love the Lord. They are her legacy. She was a member of Faith Community Church, and was actively involved in numerous ministries serving wherever there was a need. Heidi was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Harold and Aldyth Peterson, maternal grandfather Everett England, and her infant daughter Ainsley Catherine Grace. In addition to her parents, husband, and children, those who remain to be inspired by her memory are sisters and brothers-in-law Michelle and Jason Lowe and Cara and Paul Rankin of Beckley, nephews and nieces Noah, Benjamin, and Kate Lowe and Callie and Eden Rankin, and maternal grandmother Jean England of Huber Heights, OH, along with numerous extended family and friends. Services will be held at the Beckley Convention Center / Faith Community Church on Sunday, January 13 with visitation from 2:00-4:00pm and a celebration of her life at 4:00pm. Pallbearers will be Kevin Bernhardt, Brandon Bennett, Brian Board, Arnie Brown, Craig Frazier, Derrick Spell, Brandon Spell, and Paul Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Kelly Housh, Dr. Matthew Melton, Darren Peterson, Jeremy Uptegrove.
