George Ronald Terlizzi, 70, of Shady Spring, was promoted to Heaven Saturday, June 15, 2019.
Born November 19, 1948 in Huntington, WV, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Marion Billy Terlizzi.
George was a minister having served four churches during his career and currently a member of Daniels Missionary Baptist Church where he taught a Bible class. During the Vietnam War, he served in the Army Reserves.
A graduate of Huntington High School, George attended Auburn University and graduated with a BA in Business Administration from Marshall University in 1971. He was employed in sales with Anchor Supply, Charleston, WV for two years. In January 1976, he accepted Jesus as his Savior. Upon receiving the call to preach, George attended Tennessee Temple Baptist Theological Seminary where he served as President of the student body and graduated with a Master of Theology in 1980.
George is survived by his wife, Nancy Shrewsbury Terlizzi; sons, George, II and wife Robin of Charlotte, NC, Eric and wife Dolly of Raleigh, NC; daughter April of Durham NC, grandchildren, David, Chloe, Sophie and Sarah; brother, Leonard Terlizzi (Sue), sister, Trudy Harrison, one niece, and three nephews.
A celebration of George’s life will be 11 am Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Faith Community Church, 299 Grey Flats Rd, Beckley with Pastor Timothy Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in the Shrewsbury Cemetery at Beeson. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 pm Friday at the church.
