Geneva Frances Treadway

Geneva Frances (Jackson) Treadway, age 88, of Crab Orchard, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 18, 2023, at Raleigh Center in Daniels, WV.

Born August 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Marshu Pack.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Ethel and Brendie Jackson; a son, Bruce Jackson; a great grandson, Elliot Jackson; her brothers, Arnold, Raynard, Vernard, Coval; and sisters, Madeline and Virginia; and her late husband, Slim Treadway. 

Geneva was a born-again Christian and a member of Sophia First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir. She enjoyed many years of hunting alongside her sons, sisters and many family members. She loved music, which brought her comfort in the many years of her illness. In her earlier years, she would play instruments; the spoons, harmonica, piano and sing with her siblings. 

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include; her sister, Normie Richmond, Beaver, WV; her two sons, Bryan Jackson and wife Trixie of Crab Orchard, WV; Kevin Jackson and wife Nova of Daniels, WV; five grandchildren, Paul Jackson and wife Sarah of Hurricane, WV; April Edwards and husband Mike of New Hill, NC; Ashley Moore and husband Shawn of Angier, NC; Taylor Lusk and husband Brian of Cheyenne, WY; Caleb Jackson and wife Jess of Daniels, WV; great grandchildren, Austin, Aiden, Ethan, Caden, Avery, Lincoln, Sawyer and Graham and many family members.

Alzheimer's is such a horrible and devastating disease that not only takes away the quality of life but the quality of time with loved ones. However, this disease did not define who Geneva was to all that loved her. Geneva was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. And the memories of her when she was a vibrant, active and godly woman will bring us comfort. She is finally at rest. 

A special thanks to the staff at Raleigh Center for the great care she received while a resident.

A memorial service will be held at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley, WV to Celebrate the Life of Geneva Treadway on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Pastor Ernest "Buddy" Calfee Jr will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
