Gazie Joe Pachuta

September 3, 1929 — September 18, 2012

On Tuesday evening, September 18, 2012, Gazie Joe Pachuta of Beckley began his final journey to be reunited with his parents Joe and Mary Hritzo Pachuta.
In addition to his parents, Gazie was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Dillon and JoAnn Dresser.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 58 years, Josephine Peelish Pachuta. They were each other’s best friends and cherished every day they spent together.
Also surviving Gazie are two admiring sons, Bob (Nancy) and John (Vickie); and adoring granddaughter, Laura and her three children Sophie, Jayce and Riley. He will be greatly missed by a special great grandson Brian Barnabi.
In addition, he is survived by two sisters, Rosalie Sutyak and Mary Lowe.
Gazie was born in Oswald, WV on September 3, 1929. As a young man, Gazie worked for several local mining companies. He left his mining job to proudly serve in the US Army during the Korean War. He returned to mining and later became a printer for BJW Printers where he remained until he retired.
Gazie was a soft-spoken yet strong man. He was admired and adored by his entire family and his passing will create a huge void for all.
On Friday, September 21 at 11:00 AM, we will gather at St. Francis de Sales Church to say a fond farewell to our endearing husband, most respected father and loving grandfather. Monsignor Samuel S. Sacus will lead us all as we celebrate Gazies’ earthly life of 83 years and the beginning of his life eternal. There will be visitiation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Pall Bearers will be Ralph Chamarro, Walter Peelish, John Peelish, Joe Voloski, Ron Koontz, and Jimmy Booth.
Online condolences may be left at www.calfeefh.com.
The family is being served by Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley.
