Evert Ray Mills, Sr.

Evert Ray Mills, Sr., 91, of Beckley, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Bowers Hospice House. Born September 7, 1925 in Carrollton, OH, he was the son of the late George Oscar and Lulu Koeber Mills.
Evert worked in the accounting department of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Steubenville, OH. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Martin’s Ferry, OH, Masonic Lodge in Martin’s Ferry, Scottish Rite, Valley of Steubenville, OH and Osiris Shrine Lodge, Wheeling, WV. Evert was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Laverna Mae Mills.
He is survived by his son, Evert Ray Mills, Jr. and wife Deborah of Beckley; grandchildren, John Christopher Mills and wife Sovrnkonthea, Evie Rachelle Mills, Samuel Andrew Mills; great grandchildren, Anita, Angelo, Kian and LiLou.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vondie L. Cook officiating. Burial will be in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Friends may visit with the family 1 hour prior to the service on Friday.
