Everett Wayne Fraley

Everett Wayne Fraley, known to family and friends as Wayne, passed from this life to enter the presence of the Lord peacefully surrounded by his family, on January 8, 2025, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. He was born on September 15, 1945, to Maude and Everett Fraley. Wayne grew up in Slab Fork, WV and met his wife Brenda at the Glen White Church of God. The two were married on December 9th, 1963, and that union would last for over 57 years until Brenda’s death in 2020. 

Wayne was a core driller, mechanic, and coal truck driver for over 36 years. Wayne loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His hobbies included fishing -especially in catfish tournaments with his son-in-law Nelson. Wayne was an avid car collector and enjoyed repairing and restoring the cars he found. He also enjoyed watching Fox News and keeping up with current events.

Wayne was a member of the Glen White Church of God and attended there regularly until his health started to decline. His wife Brenda was a founding member. Wayne loved the Lord and always enjoyed preaching and good Gospel Music. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Maude Fraley, his wife Brenda Joyce Meadows, his brother Franklin “Buddy” Fraley and sister Carol Bolt. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Everett (Kim) Fraley, Crystal (Nelson) Alonso; his eight grandchildren Abigail (Ashton) Ashley, Luke Fraley, Joshua Camarillo, Michael Fraley, Jasmine Alonso, Jaxsun Alonso, Jacob Fraley, and Josiah Alonso; his siblings Geraldine (Banks) Shepherd, Bill (Barbara) Fraley, Roger (Katie) Fraley, and Allen (Alice) Fraley sister-in-law Mary Fraley, brother-in-law Ralph Bolt, cousin and close friend Billy Basham, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley, WV. The service will be officiated by Pastor Jesse A. Farley. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the start of the service. A private committal service will follow for immediate family only.
