Evelyn Ferguson Imboden

Evelyn Ferguson Imboden of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away at 100 years old on April 14, 2023. She was born on March 10, 1923 in Raleigh WV, and was the daughter to the late William Grover Ferguson, Mary Emily McCormick Ferguson Myers and loving stepfather Amos Myers .

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Morris Basil Imboden of 51 years; her brother Marvin Ferguson; sister Hazel Gertrude Snuffer (Edward); half-brothers Billy and Guy Ferguson, and half-sisters Audrey Ferguson Williams and Anna Sue Chapman.

Evelyn graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1941. She was a Registered Nurse having graduated from Raleigh General Hospital under the cadet program. She was employed by the Hospital Corporation of America until her retirement. She loved being a nurse and continued to serve through the Raleigh General Nursing Alumni, Senior Friends Program, and the American Red Cross. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church, the Disciples Sunday School Class and was a singer in the adult church choir. Evelyn and her good friend Mary Pierce loved doing acts of service for their church family and anyone in need. Evelyn loved cooking, canning and sewing, but more than anything she loved spending time with her family and being with them as much as possible. She will be missed by her family, church family and many friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Morris Alan Imboden, of Sarasota Florida; daughter Linda Imboden White (Mike) of Beckley WV; grandchildren Kevin White of Beckley, Erin Mullins (Dustin) of Bridgeport WV, grandson, Zachary Imboden (Stephanie), granddaughter, Kayla Imboden of Sarasota Florida, and two great grandsons, Jeremih White and Jaxson Imboden.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Bright officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
