Eugene Terry

Eugene Douglas Terry, 75, of Mount Hope, WV, passed away on November 25, 2024. Gene was the son of the late Kendall Terry and Gladola Terry, of Lester, WV. Gene pastored Tilden Community Church of Sullivan for nearly 15 years. He loved preaching and teaching God’s Word. The congregation at Tilden was such a blessing to Gene and he loved every one of them. Gene worked in the coal mines and was a self-taught surveyor, but his longest career path was being a superintendent for several construction companies. Gene loved being a grandpa to his one and only grandchild, Caitlin Terry. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Lee Terry and son, Carl Douglas Terry. Gene was loved and will be greatly missed by his mother Gladola Terry, his siblings Wayne and Charla Terry, Janet and James Snuffer, Judy and Greg Dunbar, June and Sam Blaylock, daughter-in-law, Andrea Terry, and many nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends. Special thanks to his hospice home health team, and those that made weekly visits, Amanda and Stephanie. 

Following Gene’s wishes there will be no funeral service.
