Etta Jewel Martin, 89, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Morning Side Assisted Living in Hanover, Maryland.
Born March 2, 1924, in Lester, WV, to the late George Wesley and Mary Elizabeth Webb Martin. Etta was employed by the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, Maryland, for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by sisters Macie, Rachel, Willa, and Alice as well as brothers Josh, Woodrow and Jimmy. Survivors include 16 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vondie L. Cook, II, officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery in Maple Meadow. Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, July 1, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in her honor be made to Trap Hill High School Alumni Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 179, Harper, WV 25851.
