Ernest Johnson Blevins

Ernest J. Blevins, 84, of Crab Orchard, died February 18, 2011 at Bowers Hospice House. Born March 12, 1926, in Hot Coal, WV, he was the son of the late Roby Blevins and Flora Fortner Blevins. He worked in maintenance/construction for Darrell Williams Builders. He was a life-time resident of West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jones Blevins; brothers, John, Hillard, and Bill Blevins; sisters, Delma Rollyson and Mary Lilly. Ernest was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Survivors include four daughters, Ernestine Lewis (Sarge) of Beckley, Carol Greathouse (Tony) of Coal City, Sue Myers (Johnny) of Crab Orchard, Glenna Blevins (Tom) of Coal City; one son, James Blevins of Beaver; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011, in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Hoy Fitzwater officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
