.Erma Phyllis Brown, 81, of Maple Fork, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012 after a brief illness. Born November 16, 1930 at Eccles, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Blanche Newman Lester. Erma was a homemaker and a 1948 graduate of Trap Hill High School. She was a member of the Church of Christ on Carriage Dr. in Beckley where she also taught Sunday school. Erma loved music, gardening and the outdoors. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Vernon Brown; brother, Lloyd Lester and sisters, Daphna White and Castilee White.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael H. Brown and wife Kylette of Beckley and Gregory V. Brown and wife Debra of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandchildren, Erin McRae Buckland and husband Greg and Michael Kyle Brown of Beckley, James Gregory Brown and wife Shelley and Melissa Brown Miller and husband Gavin of Tuscaloosa, AL; great-grandchildren, Landon McRae Buckland, Julie E. Brown, Gregory Dalton Brown, Cole B. Styron, Caleb G. Miller, Ethan J. Miller and McKenna C. Miller; sister Joyce Terreo and husband Tony of Wheaton, IL
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jim Wilson officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service on Friday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
