Emma Lou Burns

Emma L. Burns, 97, of Gallipolis, OH, formerly of Beckley, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in a Gallipolis health care center. Born February 25, 1912 in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Fileden and Maggie Earls Gray. Emma was a homemaker and a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Gallipolis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Burns and her son, Charles R. Greene.
Survivors include a son, Crayton L. Greene of Bermuda, sister, Marceline Slack and her husband Wilbur of Gallipolis, brother, Sam C. Gray and his wife Betty of Chapin, SC, five grandchildren; Shelly and Lynn of Bermuda and Doug, Bobby and Suzanne of Deleware, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m.Thursday, July 30, 2009 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wilbur Slack officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery at Orgas, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to service. Family and friends will serve as pallbeaerers.
