Elizabeth Rose “Betty” Peplowski, 80, of Beckley, passed away at home
Monday, November 3, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Born January 22,
1934 in Skelton, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Elizabeth
Pedro Pachuta. In addition to her parents Elizabeth was preceded in death
by her sisters Billie Jo Franko and Janie Moore.
Elizabeth was a former manager in retail sales. She was a member of St.
Francis DeSales Catholic Church where she was very active in various
activities until her illness. She was also active in fund raising for the
American Cancer Society.
She is survived by her husband of 61 yrs Joseph Edward Peplowski; children,
Mary Ann Peplowski of Beckley, Joseph Peplowski and wife Janice of Nimitz,
WV, Joanne Peplowski of Beckley, John Peplowski and wife Kathy of Grandview,
Walter Edward Peplowski and Elizabeth Ann Peplowski both of Beckley;
grandchildren, Joshua and wife Sarah, Philip, and Katie Elizabeth and
great-grandchild, Payton Elizabeth Peplowski to arrive in 24 days; sisters
Mary Ann Wise and husband Don of Beckley, Margie Reinhardt of Cincinnati,
brother John Pachuta and wife Ann of Cary NC, brother-in-law, John Franko,
Pittsburgh, PA. and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at
St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church with Monsignor Samuel Sacus officiating.
A rite of committal will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit
with the family from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Calfee Funeral Home where a
rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. led by Rev. Mr. Don Wise. Pallbearers will be Joshua Peplowski, Philip Peplowski, Mark Misco, John Franko, William Franko, Don Wise.
