Dorothy Marie Cole Tankersley

Dorothy Marie Cole Tankersley, 89, of Coal City, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Bowers Hospice House. Born May 29, 1927 at Coal City, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Alice May Canaday Cole.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of the Methodist church and attended Coal City Community Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diane Marie Tankersley and her sister, Ruth Cole Maloney.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Jaris (Jack) Tankersley; sons, Jaris (Jack) Tankersley, Jr. and wife Angelie of Newport News, VA, Richie Tankersley and wife Jeannie of Coal City, WV, Gregory Tankersley and wife Stacy of Huntington, WV, daughter, Cheryl Teaford and husband Keith of Roanoke, VA and son, Thomas Tankersley and wife Deborah of Roanoke, VA; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one on the way.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Rumberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Cole Family Cemetery at Coal City. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until service time on Tuesday.
Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
