Dorothy L. McVey

Dorothy Lucille McVey, 95, of Pemberton passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 following a long illness. Born October 19, 1919 in Callaghan, VA, she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Sally Kelley Mentz. Dorothy was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and reading. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. McVey; a daughter, Rose Ellen McVey; brothers, Hubert, Lewis and Homer Mentz and sisters, Mary and Virginia.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances Stacy of Pemberton; son, Richard D. McVey of Hendersonville, TN; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Calfee Funeral Home. Graveside rites and burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the McVey Cemetery at Sullivan with Pastor Jimmy Ford officiating.
