Donald Lee Wickline

Donald Lee Wickline, 84, of Beckley, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022.  Born August 2, 1937, he was the son of the late Hubert Lee and Sylvia Frances Hanson Wickline.

Donald Wickline led a life well lived and has left a legacy in his family that will continue on for generations to come.  He was a deeply cherished friend to all, a Daddy, a PawPaw and a soulmate.  While we will mourn this tremendous loss for a long while, we are left with the most beautiful memories that will carry us through.  Memories of finger guns, and lunch time soap operas, fishing and tinkering in the garage.  “We will miss the What ya say there” greetings, clogging and card games. His family will remember him for many things, two stepping in the kitchen and singing about the dirty dishes, working in his workshop, being at his heels and watching him do anything, whether he was in the garden or tearing it upon the dance floor with Mawmaw. He put many a quarter in the swear jar. He was a strong man who took care of his family and pushed through to survive so much. His recliner will sit empty like a throne missing its king. His wife and children remember him as the best man ever known.

He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Rose Marie, who will miss him dearly. Donald and Rose were married 60+ years and grew closer as the decades passed.  They were dedicated to each other.  He is also survived by his children, son, Romey Wickline and wife Nancy, Teresa Dixon and husband John, and Ginger Faltisek as well as eight grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Wickline officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
