Donald Ray Crotty, 87, of Beckley passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Born June 28, 1928 in Lester, WV, he was the son of the late Theodoric Obid and Ruth Gwinn Hughes Crotty.
Donald was a foreman for Tredegar Industries in Chicago for 30 years and a member of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church. His interests included pool, bowling and playing the piano. He loved to tell stories and meet new people.
Donald is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Crotty; 4 children, Debbie Sperry and husband Rocky of Bluefield, WV, Karen Greishaber and husband Jon of Vinton, VA, Ronald L. (Butch) Crotty and wife Tammy of Roanoke, VA, Donnie Bailey and wife Lara of Clarksburg, WV; 2 step-sons, Larry Reynolds of Chatsworth, GA, Terry Reynolds and wife Joan of Huntsville, AL; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Rev. Ralph Crotty and wife Ginny of Ypsilanti, MI and many close cousins and dear friends.
Services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Michael Sisson officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery In Oak Hill, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
