Donald M. Bratcher, 88, of Beckley, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2011 at Bowers Hospice House. Born July 3, 1923 in St. Joseph, MO, he was the son of the late Jean and Zula Helen Engleman Bratcher.
Donald was retired from the U.S. Navy. Following his time in the Navy he worked as a security officer for North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the American Legion, VFW and Disabled American Veterans. Donald had been a resident of Beckley since 2004
Survivors include his daughter, Sandy Finney of Salem, OR; grandsons, Darryl Quinton of GA and Edward Quinton of OR; special friends, Heather Zickafoose and husband Shane and Heather Faust and husband Erik and their daughters, Keonna and Halayna all of Beckley; faithful companions, Baron von Baron and Blackie as well as a host of friends at IHOP, Arbys, Omlette Shoppe and Bob Evans.
Services and entombment will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B with Mr. Jerry Rose officiating. There will be no visitation. American Legion Post 32 Honor Guard will provide military honors.
