Born November 21, 1948 in Dumas, TX, he was the son of Ruth Kersten McGaha of Amarillo, TX and the late Rual McGaha. He was retired from the the U.S. General Services Administration in Ft. Worth, TX. Donald was a member of Temple Beth El in Beckley and a lifetime member of the DAV. He was an 11 year veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. While in the service he received the Silver Star, Bronze Star w/'V', Air Medal, Army Commendation, national defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge.
Donald had a love of life and animals. He was involved with animal rescue and enjoyed collecting as a hobby.
