Dennis Ray Shrewsbury

Dennis Ray Shrewsbury, 63, of Beckley, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at Bowers Hospice House. Born November 28, 1949 in Crab Orchard, he was the son of the late Howard and Lola Rakes Shrewsbury. Dennis was a disabled construction worker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding 4-wheelers. He loved his dogs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Shrewsbury Rogers.
Survivors in clued a son, Ray Shrewsbury and his wife Melissa of Crab Orchard; daughter, Tina Cook of Crab Orchard; step daughter, Tina Harris of NC; brother, Roger Shrewsbury and wife Nancy of NC; sisters, Dorlia Cox and husband Larry of SC, Sylvia Sweeney and Jan Lacey and husband Dan of Crab Orchard; grandchildren, Jacob , Colton and Houston Shrewsbury, Paige and Isaiah Cook all of Crab Orchard, Dawson and Abby Harris of NC as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.
