Dellmeda Marie Phipps

Dellmeda Marie Phipps, 92, of Beckley, went home to Heaven Sunday, September 6, 2009 after an extended illness. Born April 26, 1917 at Mt. Tabor, she was the daughter of the late Snyder and Lessie Snuffer Phipps. Dellmeda was retired from W.T. Grant Co. and the Curtain Shop. She was a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Wanda Reid and Revell Phipps and brothers; Carl, Edward, Wilmer and Denny Phipps.
Survivors include three nieces; Betty Patton and husband Doff of Beckley, Mary Jane Gilkerson and husband Glen of Lewisburg, Shirley Carter and husband Bill of Shady Spring, nephews; John Reid and his wife Joyce of Williamsburg, VA, Dallas Phipps of Beckley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael King and Rev. Donald Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
