Darrell was born September 5, 1986 in Beckley, the son of Melva Jean Hodge Nunn of Glen Daniel and Darrell Reed Haney, Jr. of Crab Orchard. He was a former coal miner having last worked for Cowan, Inc. He was of the Baptist faith and was a lifelong resident of Raleigh Co.
