Danny Ray Wood

Danny Ray Wood, 58, of Raleigh, passed away at his home on Friday, March 13, 2015. Born February 27, 1957 in Raleigh County he was the son of the late Howard and Mary Austin Wood. Besides his parents Danny was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Wood; sister, Mildred Wood and grandchildren, Taylor and Abigail Dutton.
Danny was an fan of NASCAR and enjoyed working with and admiring muscle cars. He also volunteered with the Friends of Coal Auto Fair.
Survivors include his daughter, Shelli Dutton of Beckley; a son, Brendhan Wood and his wife Jill of Crab Orchard; grandchildren, Kaeric and Gabe Dutton of Beckley and Anthony and Katie Wood of Crab Orchard; sisters, Ruth Ann Kiser of Ft. Myers, FL, Retha Burkhammer of China Grove, NC, Betty Moore of York, SC, Linda Ward of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Ellen Strausbaugh of North Ridgeville, OH and Kathy Weaver of Concord, NC; brother Larry Wood of Beckley and numerous other family.
A memorial service will be held at 6pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
