Conrad owned Becklely Tire and Rubber Co. for 35 years until his retirement in 1976. He was also a real estate broker with Sigmund-McLean Realtors in Beckley.
Conrad was a past president and member of the Beckley Lions Club for 50 plus years. He was also a member of the Elks and other civic organization. He was a member of the Men's Bible Class, First Baptist Church, Beckley. Conrad loved to play golf and was a long-time member of the Black Knight Country Club. He also enjoyed motor boating and fishing on Flat Top Lake. His wife of 59 years, the former Garnett Damron of Louisa, Kentucky, preceded in death on July 25, 2001.
