Connie Jean Underwood

Heaven celebrated the life of our precious Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and friend, Connie Jean Underwood, on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

Connie Jean Underwood, born May 5, 1952, passed away from a short illness in Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV, on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Connie was preceded in death by her Parents, Reverend Harold R. Underwood and Carrie Mae Underwood, and sisters, Patricia Allen, Sherry Adams, and Sarah Wickline.

Connie worked as a nail tech for many years and, later in life, changed careers to pursue her passion as an in-home caregiver. Her children and grandchildren were her life. Her brilliant sky-blue eyes and contagious smile will forever be remembered.

Survivors include her daughters, Michelle Pack and husband Ronnie Pack of Bradley, WV, Cindy Haga and husband Bruce Haga of Mount Hope,  Yvette Gunnoe of Bradley, and son, Gary Scott (Scotty) of Huntington, five beautiful granddaughters, Riley Grace,  Lainey Beth,  and Addy Mae Pack of Bradley, WV, Nevaeh Faith Haga of Mt Hope, WV, Tori Haga of Beckley two grandsons, Logan Haga of Mt. Hope and Zion Underwood of Bradley, WV,  two sisters,  Peggy White and husband Rick White of Elkview, WV, Donna Rutherford of Gettysburg, PA., many extended family members and special new family members Gary, Brittany and Holden Brooks. 

A memorial service will be held on November 5^th at Stanaford New Beginnings Christian Church, Beckley, WV. Friends may visit from 4:00-5:00 with services beginning at 5:00 pm with Reverend Dean Adams officiating.

The family wishes to extend a special thank-you for the immeasurable acts of kindness and love through these trying times to Reverend Dean Adams, the staff at the Bowers Hospice House, Bill Lilly and Charles Gadomski from the 4^th floor at Raleigh General, and Brittany and Gary Brooks.
