Our kind and loving father, Clyde Walker ward passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 peacefully at home.
Born May 24, 1928, he was the son of the late Albert Fitzpatrick and Celia (Baber) Ward.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Patricia (Bare) and son, Andrew Walker; brothers Morris (Evelyn) Imboden, Timothy (Clarabell), Gilbert (Freda), John and sister, Gloria (Henry) Campbell. He was the last remaining member of his immediate family.
Clyde attended Shady Spring High School and went on to serve 22 years in the army. He served in Turkey, the Philippines, Korea, Vietnam, Germany and various installations in the United States. After retiring in 1969, he owned and operated Ward’s Esso Station and later went to work for Ingersol-Rand.
Survived by his daughters, Patricia Good (Myron Anderson) of Beckley, Pamela (Daniel) Rhome of Bovard, PA and son, Dennis (Christina) of Lucasville, OH; seven grandchildren, Jason Groves, Joshua Good, Jeremy (Amity) Good, Eric (Crystal) Rhome, Danielle (Ryan) Sigafoes, Natalie (Cody) Gregory and Nathan Ward (Ariel Wooten); twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
The Ward family would like to thank long-term caregivers for taking such good care of our dad, Shannell Steelman, Dacoda Morton, Marsha Miller and Linda with Central WV Aging.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vondie Cook, Sr. officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Tilden Community Cemetery.
