Clarice June Cook, 86, of Beckley, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. She was born in Arnett on January 17, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Arlie and Effie Dickens. Clarice was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 54 years, Alfred “Tony” Cook; a sister, Betty Miller; and a brother, Gerald Dickens.
Clarice was a 1953 graduate of Marsh Fork High School and was a member of Beckley Regular Baptist Church. She loved working outside on her hill, singing silly songs for every occasion, family get togethers, making peanut butter fudge for just about anyone, McDonald’s “senior” coffee with three creams, Dairy Queen hotdogs, washing and ironing clothes, and helping in her children’s Sunday School class.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters Toni Furey and her husband, Mike of Glen Daniel; Jerri Stack and her husband, Steve of Crab Orchard; five grandchildren, Justin Furey and his wife, Morgan of Glen Daniel; Olivia Furey of Beckley; Cody Stack and his wife, Lexie of Beckley; Ethan Stack and Emily Stack of Crab Orchard, and great-grandson Trace Furey of Glen Daniel.
Funeral services will be conducted at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 1:00pm with son-in-law Mike Furey officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am until the service at 1:00pm on Saturday. Pallbearers will be grandsons (Justin, Cody and Ethan), Edsel Dickens, Rich Bagshaw, and Mark Lusk.
