Charlotte Mae Birchfield Davis

Charlotte Mae Birchfield Davis, 91, of Winston-Salem, NC, formerly of Lester, passed away Tuesday December 16, 2014. Born May 1, 1923 to Stephen E & Eliza McKinney Birchfield. The sixth of seven children. She leaves to mourn 4 children: her oldest daughter, Ms Jan Fuqua, Winston-Salem, NC; daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Smith, Winston-Salem, NC, Son, Jerry Richardson (Aleta) Rock Island TN; Son, Roger Richardson (Betty) Walnut Cove, NC. 15 Grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many great, great, grandchildren. She cherished each of them with an abiding love.
As long as her health permitted she enjoyed time preparing many delicious meals for her family and the LDS Missionaries that she so enjoyed serving. She loved her church and it was an integral part of her life.
God Took Her To His Loving Home
God saw her getting tired, a cure was not to be. He wrapped her in His loving arms and whispered 'Come With Me'.
She suffered much in silence, her spirit did not bend.
She faced her pain with courage, until the very end.
She tried so hard to stay with us but her fight was not in vain, God took her to His loving home and freed her from the pain....
The family wishes to thank the staff at Oak Forest Health & Rehab in Winston-Salem, NC for their loving care.
Funeral services will be 2pm Friday December 19, 2014 at the Lester First Church of God, Lester, WV with Pastor Dale Birchfield officiating. (Charlotte's father, Stephen Birchfield was one of the Founders of this church many years ago) Burial to follow in the Birchfield Family Cemetery, Lester, WV. There will be no visitation.
