Charles “Big Charlie” Frank Lannutti, 63 of Lester, WV, passed away on March 24, 2010, after a sudden illness. He was the son of the late Charlie and Frances Yannie Lannutti.
Charlie owned and operated Big Charlie’s Packette in Lester for many years.
Besides his parents and loving stepfather, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Darien Permelia, and a grandson, Enoch Athey.
Charlie was married and cherished most in life his beautiful, loving, and caring wife of 37 years, Barbara Jean Lannutti, and was blessed with four wonderful children, Cynthia Athey and her husband Thomas of Surveyor, Eric Mastrippolito and his wife Melanie of Lester, Donna Metzger and her husband Chris of Shady Spring, and Mylissa Lannutti and her companion Tom of Charlotte, NC.
Those left to cherish his loving memory are his grandchildren, Whitney Ballengee and her husband Justin of Fairdale, Summer Athey, Brook Athey, Chase and Corbin Mastrippolito, David Bryant Byrd, Kaelah and Bailey Madden, and Sterling Fleming, and a great grandson, Landon Adam Ballengee. His surviving siblings are Dwarfus Permelia, Darleen Pyatt and Sharlie Permelia. Other survivors include his faithful friend and loveable dog “Frostie”.
He loved most of all out of life, having his family with him, enjoying big family dinners and being surrounded by all of his grandchildren. His passions in life were antique cars. He absolutely cherished his turquoise 1957 Chevy Bel Air, two door, hard top. He also loved Saturday night poker games and shooting pool with his buddies.
Charlie never met a stranger and will be missed by many.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 27,2010 in the chapel of Mausoleum B in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, with the Rev. Dean Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at Mausoleum B Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
