Carl Junior Lilly, 85, of Beaver, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016. Born January 7, 1931 in Blue Jay he was the son of the late Carl Pierce and Claudia Martin Lilly. Besides his parents Carl was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Lilly and brother, Freddie Lilly.
Carl was a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War and had the honor to serve on a security detail at an Air Force base in Korea and was also stationed in Thule, Greenland. After serving his country, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Carbon Fuel Company and US Steel. He was a member and Treasurer of the Spoken Word Tabernacle for over 45 years. Carl was also a member, and at one time Treasurer, of the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting in his free time but was a family man first and cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of over 64 years, Bertha Mae Lilly; sons, Eddie Lilly and his wife Cindy of Beaver and Ronald Lilly and his wife Rhonda of Cool Ridge; daughter, Donna Vest and her husband Randy of Beaver; grandchildren, Jennifer McGraw and her husband Tony, Kimberly Lilly, Jeremy Lilly, Angela Sinyard, Paul Lilly, Daniel Lilly, Rebekah Kinzer and husband Darren, Sarah Peters and husband Brian and Matthew Vest and wife Laura; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Frances Lilly, Donald Lilly, Margaret Phillips and husband Delbert, Evelyn Worrell and James Lilly and his wife Loretta along with numerous other family.
Funeral services will be 1PM Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the Spoken Word Tabernacle in Beaver with Rev. Roy Shrewsbury, Rev. Ronald Lilly and Rev. Ivan England officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 6-9PM at the church.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
