Carl Eldridge “Elgie” Lambert, 85, of Beckley passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Bowers Hospice House. Born August 8, 1930 in Sprague, WV, he was the son of the late Carl Henry and Lena Hawks Lambert.
Elgie was the owner of the former Lambert Keystone from 1959 to 1973. In 1970 he opened Lambert Auto Parts followed by A&A Carwash in 1991. He loved hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Lambert and sister, Norma Jean Broyles Wood.
Elgie is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Beckingham Lambert; son, Michael Lambert and wife Beverly of Beckley; granddaughter, Dr. April Lambert-Drwiega and husband Robert of Johnson City, TN; grandson, Aaron Lambert of Beckley; great grandchildren, Landon and Alexis Drwiega; sister, Doris Dunn and husband Robert of Parkersburg, WV; sister-in-law, Barbara Lambert of Beckley and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Bill Parker and Michael Sisson officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Lambert, Robert Drwiega, Don Broyles, Scott Boyd, Dr. Chris Gross, Phil Bartram.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801
