It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Caige Eliijah Acord, of Lester WV, who unexpectedly left us on November 30th 2024 at the age of 22.
Caige was much loved by family and friends. He was a kind-hearted and compassionate young man who brought joy to everyone he met. Caige was full of joy and playful mischief. His infectious smile, goofy antics and genuine kindness touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. When he wasn’t making others laugh and smile, Caige could be found drawing or watching his favorite movies and shows. He loved to watch Jeff Dunham, Hulk, Frankenstein, King Kong, Skyrim, Minecraft and The Wizard of Oz. He especially enjoyed the time he spent in school and was a graduate of Liberty High School. He enjoyed family cookouts, spending time at Lake Stephens and eating at his favorite restaurants. Caige was a bright soul who, regardless of his limited speech, communicated deep and unfiltered empathy when those around him were sad or in pain. He loved to laugh and make others laugh and smile. If he met you, he hugged you!
Caige is survived by his mothers, Debbie L. Acord and Michelle D. Huerta, his siblings, Kayla, Ayden, Bryson, and Ella Acord of Lester WV, sister Emily (Micheal) Persinger of Beckley WV, his brothers Daylan Spencer of Beckley WV and RJ Calloway of Glen Danial WV, his beloved grandparents Wanda L. Acord of Beckley WV and Joe E. Acord of Glen White WV, aunts Brenda Gray and Betty Smith, uncles Lane (Sue Ellen ) Acord and William Lynn Shipe as well as numerous cousins, nephews and extended family. Also, there are those who Caige loved dearly and who meant so very much to his family; Alyssa Cullicerto, Gary and Jenny Peters, and many others who gave of themselves to make Caige’s life the best that it could be.
A celebration of Caige’s life will be held at Lester Church of God, Saturday December 7th, 2024. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 pm after which we will gather to remember Caige’s life and share memories.
Though his time on this earth was far too brief, Caige leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace, forever cherished, forever loved.
The family would like to thank Pastor Dale Birchfield and the congregation of Lester Church of God for their kindness and generosity as well as Lester VFD and the many friends and neighbors that have expressed their sympathy and held them up in prayer and love.
