Byron Blaine Udy, Jr.

Byron Blaine Udy Jr. left this world for his eternal home on Friday, March 17, 2023. He was born in Stotesbury, WV on June 27,1943. He grew up in Soak Creek, WV, attending Sophia Grade School and Sophia High School. He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. Following his service, he worked in the mines and attended Beckley College at night. After a serious back injury that ended his ability to work, he attended Concord College for pre-pharmacy and graduated from WVU School of Pharmacy in 1976.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Byron B. Udy Sr., and Margaret Lois Bryant Udy, his brothers, William B. Udy(Bill), and John D. Udy(Johnny), his precious grandson, Joshua Edward Byron Udy(Josh), nephew, Robert H. Horton Jr.(Robby) and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Pitzer Horton and Kayetta Hodge Horton.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Ruth Ann Horton Udy, sons, Byron B. Udy III(Rusty) and Howard JoeScott Udy(Joe) and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren Byron B. Udy IV(Blaine), Bryce McDaniel and wife Shereen, Benjamin Udy(Ben), Madison Udy, Makayla Udy and Gabe Udy; great-grandchildren Grady McDaniel and Emmaline McDaniel; brother-in-law Robert H. Horton Sr(Bobby) and George R. Horton(Randall). He was the Uncle of many beloved nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many cherished Sophia High School classmates who have remained life-long friends.

There will be no viewing or services per his and the family's request.
