Brian Edward Blankenship

Brian Edward Blankenship, 17, of Midway, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Born March 11, 2005, in Beckley he was the son of Brian Keith Blankenship and Kelley Ann Blankenship of Midway. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Phyllis and Ed Lafferty and Harry Blankenship.

Brian loved playing football whether it be outside or inside on his Xbox with friends. He enjoyed going to the gym and cherished the time spent fishing with his uncle.

Besides his parents Brian is survived by a sister, Cheyann Blankenship and her companion, Zach Grimmett of Midway; brother, Hunter Blankenship of Midway; grandmothers, Polly Shrewsburry of Itmann, WV and Joanna Blankenship of Basin, WV; uncles, Scotty Lafferty and his wife Donnie of Pine Branch, WV, Jesse Lafferty of Charleston, WV and Harry Blankenship and his wife Brandy of Matoaka, WV; aunt, Heather Woodson of Itmann, WV; stepdad, Marc Bandy of Midway; cousin, Krista Lafferty of Pine Branch, WV along with a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and other family.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Calfee Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Shrewsbury Cemetery, Basin. Friends may visit with the family 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Zach Grimmett, Brady Grimmett, Dave Treadway, Harry Blankenship, Jason McGinnis and James Woodson.
