Brenda Joyce Ward Murrell of Hinton, WV passed away on January 11, 2021 after a short illness. Brenda was born on June 27, 1945 in Radford, Virginia to William Kyle Ward Sr. and Lillian Elleen Elliott Ward. Her family moved to Glen Morgan, WV when she was a young child where she grew up and graduated from Shady Spring High school in 1963.
Brenda attended Concord College for 2 years before having to leave due to health issues.
She worked at L&M Amusement as office manager. She owned and operated Brenda’s Shape Shop. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and was a 4-H Leader for her girls.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Robert Miller Murrell, a sister Karen Ward Wheeler and her parents William K. Ward Sr. and Lillian Elleen Elliott Ward.
Brenda was an amazing cook and she loved everyone through her food. She was also an adopted mom to all of her girl’s friends and was loved by many.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Sonya Faye Murrell and husband Mike Gore of Talcott, Joleen Linville and husband Shannon Linville of Beaver. Grandchildren, Jaden Grace Linville and Mason Linville. Step grandchildren, Michael and Melanie Gore of Morgantown, Thomas Gore and finance Wendy Bolling of Hilldale WV. Great grandchildren Addison Gore, Grayson Gore, and Connar Gore.
Brother: Bill Ward Jr. and wife LaFonda. Sister-in-law: Connie Ward. Brother-in-law: John Wheeler. Nieces and nephews: Robin (Robbie) Stewart, Darlene Bennett, Chris (Kim) Ward, Shawn (Stephanie) Wheeler, and Rick Wheeler. Great nieces and nephews: Samantha Bennett, Megan (John) Hoskins, Andrew (Stephanie) Stewart, Bella Wheeler, Christian and Hannah Ward. Great, great nieces and nephews: Lilly, Jason and Allie Stewart, Parker and Alivia Rice.
