Betty Jo Patton

Betty Jo Reid Patton, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2012 following a short illness. Born August 13, 1929 in Sophia, WV, she was the daughter of the late John Eli and Wanda Mae Phipps Reid.
Betty Jo was a 1947 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, a receptionist for Dr. Grover Hedrick for 18 years and a life-long member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Betty Jo dedicated herself to her family and her church and will be lovingly remembered for all the lives she touched.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 64 years, Doff Patton of Mt. Tabor, her three sons, Donald Ray and wife Ruth of Huntington, WV, Douglas Harold and Rebecca of Piney View, WV, Darrell Reid and Jamie of Prosperity, WV, and a brother John Russell and Joyce of Williamsburg, VA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Betty Jo will be conducted on Tuesday, April 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Rev. Michael King and Rev. Mark Patton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Rev. Norman S. Patton leading the committal service. Friends may call at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church on Monday, April 2 from 6-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 262 Mt. Tabor Rd., Beckley, WV 25801.
