Betty Jane Zofer, 89, passed away at the Bailey Center for Caring on January 5, 2016 in St. Augustine, FL.
Born November 22, 1926 in Beckley, WV. She was the daughter of William 'Bill' E. and Maud Gilkeson Zofer and a descendent of the William Gilkeson family of Derry County, Ireland that settled in Staunton, VA in 1730 and later in Greenbrier and Raleigh Counties, WV. Betty worked for Appalachian Regional Hospital for 26 years before retiring and moving to Clarkson, KY and later to St. Augustine, FL.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Elsie Zofer.
Betty is survived by her sister Wilda Ruth Zofer-Patruno of St. Augustine, FL. and numerous cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, at 1:00 PM. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
