Betty Jane Pecora

Betty Jane Pecora, 80 , of Beckley, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at Bowers Hospice House. Born March 14, 1933 in Bowling Green, KY she was the daughter of the late O.C. Parker and Beatrice Myrtle Hart. Beside her mother, Betty was also preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Monohan.
Betty was a retired chief probation officer for Raleigh County. She was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Beckley where she was part of the Ladies of St. Francis. Betty was an active volunteer for Birthright of Beckley and a member of the Formosa Garden Club.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Donald Pecora; daughter, Margaret Day and her husband Bruce of Summerville, SC; sons William Pecora and his wife Connie of Pittsburgh, PA, Jeremy Pecora and his wife Julie of Novi, MI; daughter Patricia Fulco and her husband Frank of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Sarah Day, Patricia Day, Andrew Day, William Pecora, Julian Pecora, Jensen Pecora, Jaxon Pecora, Justin Pecora, Jaylen Pecora, Paolo Fulco and Sophia Fulco.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church with Father Pen officiating. A rite of committal will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley where a rosary will be recited at 7:45 led by Monsignor Samuel Sacus.
Pallbearers will be Walter Harper, Bob Cantor, Tony McKinney, David Stanley, Charlie Feldhake and Rob Rappold.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Birthright of Beckley, 400 N. Vance Dr., Beckley, WV 25801 or to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.
