Betty J. Dillon

July 14, 1929 — August 19, 2020

Betty J. Dillon, 91, passed away on August 19, 2020, of a sudden illness. Born in Beckley, WV
on July 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Zell Lilly. Even though she was a volunteer
at Beckley’s Veterans Hospital for 22 years, her favorite job was taking care of her family.
Mrs. Dillon was a Christian and lived her life through her strong faith in God. She enjoyed
reading, sewing, baking, and had a particularly keen eye for finding four-leaf clovers. Her
family was the sunshine in her life and she was always ready to tell about their
accomplishments. She enjoyed many special family and friends who visited, particularly in
recent years.
She is survived by her husband Roy E. Dillon to whom she was married for 73 years, daughter
Greta and husband Tim Oxley of Bridgeport, WV, a son Doug and wife Karen of Bluefield, WV,
daughter Ann and husband Chris Sulesky of Waynesboro, VA. She was preceded in death by
one son, Andy Dillon of Beckley, WV.
Mrs. Dillon was most proud of her 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren whom she
loved and adored. She is also survived by many close nieces, nephews, and cousins.
