Betsy Ann Aldridge, formerly Bailey, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 21, 2019. She was born on July 18th, 1947 in McDowell County, West Virginia, to Mike and Elsie Nelson Goodman. She was a graduate of Baileysville High School, Class of 1966. She was a Certified Nurse’s Aid. She worked in the caregiving industry for 30+ years and sought out various business opportunities as she had an entrepreneur’s heart. She loved to spread the “Good News” to all she encountered. Betsy was preceded in death by her parents and bothers James, Ralph, Elmer, and “Benny” Goodman. She is survived by her husband Gary “Kent” Aldridge of Beckley, WV. Her children: Robert L. Bailey Jr. and wife Tammy of Herndon,WV. Rodney S. Bailey of Beckley, WV. Matthew C. Mullins and wife Hannah of Princewick, WV. Daughter Carla Hicks Weaver and husband Christopher of Hotchkiss, WV. Step-daughter Kristen of NC. Her Mother-in-law Louise Aldridge of NC. Her grandchildren Leah, Seth, Caleb and Martina Bailey, Leandra and Rose Bailey, Matthew “Hunter”, Samuel and Luke Mullins, Christian Dickson and Isabelle Weaver, and step granddaughter Madison. Her surviving siblings are: Mary Bishop of Crab Orchard, WV. John Goodman of Crab Orchard, WV. Patsy Smith of Princeton, WV. Sister by choice Sandra Vaught of TN.
Betsy was a member of Heart of God Ministries in Beckley where she worked in the Greeters Ministry and Women of Excellence Ministry. Betsy enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed yard selling, shopping and living life to the fullest. She believed in greeting everyone with her smile. Her personal motto was J-O-Y Jesus, Others, then Yourself. She was generous and thoughtful to everyone. She had a way of adding sparkle to everything. She will be so deeply missed by her family, friends and church. She would desire that everyone who knew her to remember all the best of her and Oh how she loved Jesus.
A celebration of Betsy’s life will be 12 pm Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Heart of God Ministries with Bishop Fred Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am until service time..
The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the family in care of Carla Weaver, 261 Hotchkiss Rd, Slab Fork, WV 25920.
