Barbara Ann Bower Parker Smelser

Barbara Ann Bower Parker Smelser, 67, of Beckley, passed from her earthly body on Saturday, April 25, 2009 in a local health care center following an extended illness. Born January 6, 1942, she was the daughter of Kathleen Bower of Daniels and the late Joseph Bower. She was an interior decorator and attended Beckley College and WV State College. Barbara was preceded in death by her second husband, William Smelser.

Besides her mother she is survived by two daughters; Kimberly Lane and her husband Richard of Cool Ridge, Kristie Parker of Mt. Hope, grandson, Robbie Lane and his wife Jessica of Cool Ridge, sister, Linda Davenport of Daniels, special friend, Emauel Hutchens, niece, Belinda, nephew, C.J., four great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Russell Ellison officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to service on Wednesday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
