Arlene Goodwin

Arlene Goodwin, our Sweetheart, of Columbus, Georgia received her angel wings on, Thursday, September 3, 2020 at her home. Before moving to Georgia in June 2006, she lived in Beckley and Glen White.
Arlene was born on March 14, 1946 in Beckley, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Grady Goodwin and Helen Witt Goodwin.
Arlene was a caregiver most of her life. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, sister in law and great aunt. She was extremely special to her great niece, Casey Sanda, who lovingly nicknamed her Sweetheart.
Arlene was a member of the Red Hats Society and Friends Unlimited, Columbus, Georgia. She was also a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed a busy social life of watching dance, listening to her friends do karaoke, travelling, spending time with family and friends, attending church online, shopping, eating out and watching movies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Harold Goodwin and Ellis Goodwin.
Left to cherish her memory include twin sister, Caralene McPeake and husband Jackie of Beckley, sister Gena Farley of Columbus, Georgia, niece Kim Brooks (Mark Muldrew) of Roanoke, Alabama, niece Elaine Sanda (Mike) of Columbus, Georgia, great niece Casey Sanda, brother Ronald Goodwin and wife Betty of Lake Royale, North Carolina, nephew Ron Goodwin (Rose) of Beckley, great nephew Tommy Okes, great nephew Christopher Goodwin of Vero Beach, Florida, niece Amy Job (Jeff) of Lake Royale, North Carolina, great niece Kendra Job, great nephew Jeffrey Job and great nephew Michael (Mikey) Hilty, special cousin Linda Blevins of Clarkston, Michigan, numerous friends in Columbus, Georgia and her loyal dog Baby.
Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2020 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Parent officiating. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private entombment will be Saturday, September 12, 2020. To conform to CDC requirements, masks are required.
