Anna Katherine Burk Thompson

Anna Katherine Burk Thompson, 85, of Beckley passed away on Friday, April 10, 2009 at Raleigh General Hospital following a long illness with kidney disease. She was born January 23, 1924 at Hinton, WV, the daughter of the late William Lindsay and Annie O’Brian Burk. Anna was a retired former employee of Greenbrier Dairy in Stanaford and Borden Corporation. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Alben Thompson and two brothers, Jimmy and Bill Burk.

Survivors include sisters; Sarah Smith of Hinton and Margaret Beavers of San Antinio, TX, brothers-in-law; Kermit Thompson (Wanda) of Nitro, WV and Richie Thompson of Ft. Worth, TX, sisters-in-law; Joann Hammond of Beckley and Lisa Thompson of Miami, FL, several beloved nieces and nephews and special friends Katie Jereza and Arlene Waller.
There will be no visitation. A special prayer service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B with Father Adeeb Khalil officiating.
