Adam Tate Hamrick, 89, of Shady Spring, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017. Born October 10, 1928 in Monterville, WV, he was the son of the late John Ovil and Elsie Jane Hamrick.
Adam was a hostler helper for CSX Railroad. He enjoyed gardening, watching and feeding birds and reading Western novels.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Wesley Bryan Hamrick; sisters, Grace Bell Hamlett, Iva Leo Waddell and son in law, Randall Warden.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene Lane Hamrick; sons, Lyle Thomas Hamrick and wife Sandi, Larry Bryan Hamrick; daughter, Carol Warden; grandchildren, Erin Leiser, Hannah Warden, Hunter Warden; great granddaughters, Amelia Leiser, Lily Grace Leiser and numerous other family members.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at First Baptist Church Shady Spring with Pastor Delvin Elwell and Pastor Steven Hamrick officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 pm Thursday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Larry Hamrick, Jay Granger, Chris Halstead, Ronnie Bailey, Larry Tolliver and Anthony Arndt.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or First Baptist Church Shady Spring.
